For 18 years now, Himalaya has been distributing with great passion the Maroma natural ambient fragrances and accessories created for us by the artisans in Auroville. Not only with a passion, but also with a great deal of professional expertise in marketing and logistics, customer care, communications and computerization. This is a brief presentation of the distinctive features of our range of products, while the text on the right contains important information concerning quality assurance for the customer.
Maroma has been working for 30 years now exclusively in the manufacture of natural ambient fragrances. A French master perfume maker, Paul Pinthon, and an American manager, Laura Reddy, take care of the products in the international setting of Auroville, a project for an ideal city in southern India under the high patronage of the UNESCO.
The production process is entirely environment-friendly and sensitive to matters of social development. These products are part of the Fair Trade network.
The products are made using the best natural essential oils that are selected from production areas all over the world. They contain no ingredients of animal origin and are cruelty free.
For the packaging of its products, Maroma gives priority to environment-friendly "handmade" paper obtained by recycling cotton waste. Printing is done by silk-screen printing by hand.
The ranges of fragrances are accompanied by marketing aids for the point of sale consisting of: wood and brass display cases, glass-fronted display boards, samples and explanatory brochures, all free of charge.
The accessories are made of recycled wood, lead-free stoneware and terracotta by the local craftsmen, in harmony with the principles of Auroville.
